Penny George
Yurara member and Artist in Residence June 25 –August 7

Penny George - I hope you enjoy my work.
Artist’ statement:
I love to paint, and to take the images in my head and put them on canvas, so I can share them with the world.
I started seriously painting in 2007 and since then have made the finals of many art awards and exhibitions in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne and smaller towns around eastern Australia.
I have a special interest in black and white photo-realism portraits and have been doing commission works since 2009.
As part of a community improvement project, I have painted two traffic signal boxes in the Redlands area, which was so much fun and hopefully I will have the opportunity to participate again.
I live in Ormiston, Brisbane with my gorgeous husband and beautiful daughter, without who’s support I wouldn’t be able to ‘live my dream’ and do this residency.
