Newhaven is a picturesque property in Central Australia belonging to Birds Australia, and lies 340 klms north west of Alice Springs. It is dedicated to the conservation of native birds and other fauna and their habitat.

 In 2002, as a member of Birds Queensland, Virginia visited Newhaven with Emu Tours.

Reflecting how she could contribute significantly to this project, she developed the idea of making a series of paintings and contributing 25% of sales.

Eight works have been completed and a limited number of smaller ones will become available.
