The
Redland
Art
Awards is a contemporary painting competition
featuring three prizes including the non-acquisitive first
prize of $10,000 for the overall winner. The Redland Art
Awards are open to all Australian artists.
First held in 1981, the
Redland
Art Awards has
become an important event in the art community’s calendar.
Now celebrating its 25th year, the event is seeking to
attract hundreds of entries from artists throughout the
nation. Over the years the Redland Shire Council has
assisted the Society in presenting the
Redland
Art Awards.
In 2008 this support
continues: first, with financial assistance to help
organizers cover the costs involved in preparing and running
the event; and second, by providing the space and facility
of the Redland Art Gallery. This generous support means that
all funds raised through sponsorship can be directed to
prizes for winning artists. For
