Artist Statement
Sharing moments that I have had an emotional response to; the joy of children playing on a summer holiday, the wonder at ancient trees and rainforests, the excitement of glimpsing a native animal in its natural environment, the power and beauty of the ocean and nature in all her moods moves me to create my artworks.
Exhibiting regularly since 2000, highlights of my career include;
2006 Highly Commended 2006 Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize. 2005 Runner up Pastelist of the Year Awards Pastel Society of Australia 2004 Best Pastel in the Peninsula Art Society Golden Anniversary Exhibition 2004 Selection as a Finalist Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize. 2004 Graduated - Diploma of Visual Arts . 2003 “Inspired by Nature“ Oakhill Gallery, Mornington, Vic.
Art for me is an adventure. Constantly changing and evolving. My body of work over recent years has been very diverse and seemly unrelated despite the common theme of nature and the landscape. Reflecting on this I have discovered my art is not unlike my life and my personality . I am constantly growing and learning. I embrace change and diversity am always creating new challenges for myself and branching off in new directions. "Creating Art is a journey not unlike life, you never know where it's going to take you."
